CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the party needs another movement.
"The ideals we followed yesterday, are we in the same ideals? This is the main question that we should ask," Dahal said addressing a program organized in Kathmandu on Monday in memory of late leader Sahana Pradhan. "We need another movement, campaign and mission. We need a force that will give its all. Our party would be doomed like the communist parties of eastern Europe otherwise."
He pointed that there are only talks of development now and that is not put into practice. "It is easy to say sweet things. The kings also talked about finding the source of development in the past. But it turned out otherwise," he stressed. "What we say is not important. What we do is important. We can say anything."
He pointed that the then CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) were unified to find new ideals and opined that it has moved in another way now. "We opted for unification to move toward new campaign and not to fight for positions making groups and sub-groups. But we have been expunged of ideals and fallen from grace," he stated. "We must correct if things move in a different manner."
He called for the party to go for a movement with new mission and objective to establish the communist party as the servant of the people by setting up new socialist system and culture.
