The forum of mayors in the Kathmandu Valley have concluded that the prohibitory orders should be relaxed by adopting precautionary measures.
"The risks still remain. But the normal life will be affected if we continue it. We should, therefore, gradually relax prohibitory orders," secretary of the forum and Mayor of Madhyapur Thimi Madan Sundar Shrestha told Setopati after the forum's meeting on Tuesday. "Public transportation should not be resumed immediately. Odd-even system should be applied for other vehicles."
The mayors, meanwhile, have advised the government to deploy army at the entry points to the Valley pointing that deployment of police has not stopped entry of people.
Shrestha revealed that the municipalities will also resume administrative services from Thursday.
