Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali has been chosen as the government spokesperson.
The Cabinet meeting at Baluwatar Monday evening has handed over the responsibility to the soft-spoken Gyawali. His secretariat confirmed with Setopati that he has been chosen as the spokesperson until another arrangement.
The position was vacant since the then finance minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada, who was also filling in as communication and information technology minister, resigned on September 4 after serving for six months without being a federal lawmaker.
Khatiwada himself was filling in after the then communication and information technology minister Gokul Baskota resigned on February 20 after audio tape of him allegedly bargaining for a Rs 700 million bribe was made public.
