Army committed to saving country from challenges: Army Chief

Chief of Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri Sunday said Nepal Army is ready to deal with any situation that may befall the country, committed to its responsibility. "Safeguarding sovereignty, territorial integrity, national unity and independence of the country is major responsibility of the Army. It will do its part to save the country from any internal and external challenges in line with the new Constitution," he said while addressing an ex-Army Conference here. On the occasion, 91-year-old ex Army personnel Ratna Bahadur Katuwal was honored. The conference was attended by 1,320 former Army personnel from Khotang, Solukhumbu, Okhaldhunga and Udayapur districts. At least 1,038 ex-Army Men underwent medical checkups at the camp.
