Sushila Badi, 13, hailing from Aathbiskot municipality-9, Radi of Rukum West has not reached a school once for formal education as of now.
Nevertheless, her friends now are in fifth and sixth grade. Sushila also has intent to go to school but her willingness to pursue education has been shattered due to weak financial condition.
She shared that she could not go to school with no source of income at home after the demise of her father some years back.
Likewise, ten-year-old Sarita Badi of Radi also has the same narrative. She is also denied of her educational opportunity. The poor economic status is behind the impediment to her keen desire to be the part of school education.
Like, Sushila and Sarita, total 34 daughters of 15 Badi households of the locality are facing the same fate being deprived of getting school education.
It is found that some of the Badi families have sent their sons to schools but compelled daughters to work at home and outside.
The Badi families are residing along the banks of Thulobheri River nearby Radi.
Sushila said that they are also eager to go to schools when the daughters of other castes are attaining the opportunity of school education. But, she is not certain whether their dreams will come true in future or not.
