The Central Investigative Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on Friday raided Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank (NCC) and arrested some office-bearers allegedly involved in scam.
"CIB raided the bank and has arrested some employees including loan officer on Friday morning to initiate the investigation on the scams involving some banks including Apex Development Bank that merged with NCC," CIB chief DIG Pushkar Karki said.
Nepal Rastra Bank had asked CIB to initiate investigation after finding out embezzlement of around Rs 2 billion, DIG Karki added.
"This is an old issue. Nepal Rastra Bank had told CIB to launch investigation on the scam that happened before the merger. We are launching investigation as some officers are in our detention." he said.
