Nawalparasi district prison holds jailbirds beyond capacity

The Parasi-based district prison of western Nawalparasi has witnessed trouble with the adjustment of higher number of jailbirds beyond its capacity. The prison management has witnessed difficulties when the district jail has to hold prisoners two times than its capacity. According to the jail administration, mainly the problems are visible in the management of residential space and toilets. Currently, there are 382 jailbirds in district prison while the accommodation capacity is only for 175 inmates, said the prison management sources.
