Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa on Friday claimed that the alleged abductors Ajay Tamang and Gopal Tamang were killed in a clash with police.
Speaking to media persons at the Bharatpur Airport on his way to attending the graduation ceremony of junior police officers at the Police Training Center in Bharatpur, Home Minister Thapa accused the media of falsely reporting the incident as extra-judicial killing.
"The government has clarified its position in the incident. The police resolved the case within 24 hours. There are some rumors about extra-judicial killing but the government has successfully completed its duty," he claimed.
Minister Thapa on Thursday had assured investigation into the incident.
Two alleged abductors Ajay Tamang, 23, of Karthali Sindhupalchowk, and Gopal Tamang, 22, of Samari Nuwakot were killed in the jungle on the way to the abode of Pilot Baba on August 6. The police administration has been widely criticized and accused of killing the alleged abductors in order to conceal its failure to save the abducted 11-year-old boy Nishan Khadka.
Locals claim the police took them to the jungle from their rented room and shot them dead. The police, on the other hand, have been claiming that they were killed in a clash.
