Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Thursday stressed the need for modernizing and commercializing agriculture in order to attract people’s attention to this sector. The PM made this statement while inaugurating an apple farm at Dingsyang Rural Municipality-1 in Manang district.
He also lauded the establishment of the farm creating job opportunities at local level. The farm is established by local Agro Manang Pvt. Ltd with an investment of Rs 300 million. It is spread over 735 ropani of land. Informing that the government this year would provide 100,000 apple saplings in grant to farmers of mountainous districts, PM Oli said, “The government is ready to provide any sort of help to farmers. It aims to develop agriculture.”
In another context, the PM said the government has taken effective steps in controlling corruption, a major hindrance to the development of a country. “Corruption brings misery to the whole people. Anyone found involved in corruption will be booked. The government aims to achieve the goal of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis’ through good-governance and development.”
On the occasion, PM Oli directed Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Prithvi Subba Gurung to take arrangements to shift human settlements at risk of natural disasters in the province to safety.
