Three youths from Shantinagar rural municipality 2 Amuwa have died suspiciously in India where they had gone for work.
Nokhi Ram Bhandari, 23, Prakash Oli, 21, and Purna Bahadur Oli, 24, have died in Himachal Pradesh, India, according to Chief of Dang Police SP Bel Bahadur Pandey. The other two had gone in search after Purna Bahadur went missing since March 20, according to SP Pandey.
The two's bodies were found beneath a cliff in Kullu Manali four days later. Their bodies were handed to the families in Dang on March 26.
The body of Purna Bahadur was found in Patlikuhal jungle in Kullu Manali on April 8. Purna Bahadur's body was brought to Dang on Thursday.
One Jaifali Miya of Amuwa had taken the trio and other few youths to India on November 30, 2018 to work.
Purna Bahadur's family, meanwhile, has refused to take the body. The body has been kept at the Rapti Provincial Hospital in Tulsipur.
The families have demanded action against Miya, who had taken the trio to India, saying the three were killed in a pre-planned manner. Miya is now in police custody and the locals joined the families and protested in front of the Area Police Post in Tulsipur demanding action against Miya.
"The irate crowd chanted slogans throughout the night threatening to even kill Miya," incharge of the police office Prem Bahadur Shah told Setopati. "We exercised restraint and tried to cool them down throughout the night."
The administration has agreed to send a police officer from the police office, a local elected people's representative and family members of the victims to India to investigate the case, spokesperson with the Dang Police DSP Binod Bikram Shah said.
Shantinagar rural municipality will bear all the expenses incurred during the course of investigation, according to the agreement.
