Younus Ansari has been arrested with counterfeit Indian currency notes worth IRs 76.794 million from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Friday.
Ansari has been arrested by a team of special bureau of Nepal Police and airport police from the airport where he had gone to receive two Pakistani nationals. The two Pakistanis coming from Qatar had two briefcases full of counterfeit notes.
"We are currently preparing field report and counting the money recovered from him," a police officer told Setopati.
Ansari was jailed for counterfeit Indian currency notes even in the past. He was under police surveillance after tip-off that he has returned to his previous work after being discharged from jail.
He was arrested from Nakkhipot of Lalitpur five years ago. An Indian shooter had shot at him inside the Central Jail after that.
