The Supreme Court (SC) will again not hear non-essential cases.
Issuing a statement on Thursday Joint Spokesperson of the SC Devendra Raj Dhakal said the Apex Court will again hear essential cases only for a few days citing that different local governments have issued prohibitory orders and an SC staffer tested positive for COVID-19.
The statement adds that only habeus corpus petitions will be registered and heard, writ petitions registered and heard, interim order discussed, appeals registered and heard, and applications related to defendants in custody among others will be heard.
The SC had stopped hearing non-essential cases from March 20-July 23 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The SC has again limited its service due to recent surge in cases across the country.
