Four persons involved in filming burning of the national flag have been arrested.
A Youtube channel named Mongol Hop had released the music video titled Deshdrohi on Monday. Singer Geljang Dorje Tamang Tamang is seen burning the national flag in the video.
A team of the Metropolitan Police Crime Division had intensified search for those involved in making the music video on Tuesday. Chief of the division SSP Dipak Thapa said four persons have been arrested while other six have been identified.
"Our team arrested four persons from different places in Kathmandu Tuesday. We have identified the other six persons involved and looking for them," SSP Thapa stated.
The arrested quartet includes one woman and three men. The arrested four includes a cameraperson, and persons involved in putting audio in the video, video editing and taking the video for editing. The video has found to have been edited in Kathmandu and posted from Kathmandu.
The police are looking for the main actors of the video.
The police had initiated investigation after widespread condemnation of the video. The video seems to have been filmed at Sri Bishnu Aadharbhut School of Salleni in Bagmati rural municipality 3, Makwanpur.
The Criminal Code 2017 prohibits insult and destruction of national anthem and national flag. It has a provision of three years of imprisonment or fine of Rs 30,000 or both for anyone involved in such acts.
