Nepal recorded the largest surge in COVID-19 Friday with 1,359 testing positive in the past 24 hours. The previous record was 1,228.
Health Ministry Spokesperson Dr Jageshwore Gautam said during the daily press briefing that the total number of cases now has increased to 44,236. Similarly, 1,354 persons have recovered in the past 24 hours taking the total to 25,561.
The government has conducted 13,638 PCR tests in the past 24 hours taking the total number of tests to 745,490 across the country until now.
Nepal has reported 14 more COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours taking the total death toll to 271.
