Government laboratories can conduct paid testing of 50 percent of the total capacity of PCR testing.
Health Ministry Spokesperson Dr Jageshwore Gautam said on Sunday that decision has been taken allowing government laboratories to conduct up to 50 percent of paid testing of those who don't meet the requirements for mandatory testing.
The laboratories earlier were allowed to conduct 25 percent of paid testing only.
A total of 48 laboratories including eight private ones are currently allowed to do PCR tests.
