The left alliance can stake claim for prime minister (PM) with the president Wednesday itself. The unification coordination committee meeting will be convened Wednesday afternoon to take decision about unification of CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center), and government formation.
The meeting can take decision to stake claim for PM, according to UML Secretary Pradeep Gyawali. "It is not confirmed yet but that decision may well be taken. There is a chance of staking claim for PM today itself if the Election Commission (EC) submits the final results of House of Representatives (HoR) today," he said.
The EC has asked the parties to correct the proportional representation (PR) lists for HoR by Wednesday evening. The EC has already accepted the lists sent by all parties except Nepali Congress (NC) and Maoist Center.
"We are preparing to submit the final results to the President today itself even if it is late in the evening," EC Spokesperson Nava Raj Dhakal told Setopati.
The EC plans to submit the final results by 8:30 in the evening if the parties submit the corrected PR lists by five in the evening.
