The National Human Rights Commission has urged the government to ensure the supply of medicine on reasonable price.
Issuing a press release Sunday, NHRC Secretary Bed Bhattarai strongly urged the government to immediately curb the marketing of drugs that curtail the consumers' rights. Effective management was must for the protection of the consumers' rights, it underscored.
The NHRC further said its attention was drawn seriously toward the ban of drug sales and distribution by the retailers owing to the pressure from Drug Entrepreneurs Association, Janakpur. The Association had accused the retailers of selling the drugs at cheap price.
