Nepali Congress (NC) will elect the parliamentary party leader on March 5.
A meeting of the party's central committee held at the party office in Sanepa on Sunday has also formed an election committee under Chin Kaji Shrestha for the purpose. The committee includes Nabindra Raj Joshi and Bhisma Angdambe.
Nominations for parliamentary party leader will be filed on March 4 and the election held a day later.
The Ram Chandra Paudel faction is angry as President Sher Bahadur Deuba is seeking the post of parliamentary party leader as well. The Paudel faction is preparing to field Prakash Man Singh for the post arguing that Deuba should not claim for the post following the party's electoral loss.
NC Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma said the party will call an expanded central committee meeting to review the performance in recent elections.
The joint meeting of the parliamentary party and work performance committees held on Saturday had prepared draft of amended parliamentary party statute including formation of a shadow cabinet.
