CPN-UML has decided to give President Bidhya Devi Bhandari a second term.
A standing committee meeting of the party held Tuesday night has decided to again field the former vice-chairman of the party as presidential candidate.
Nominations for the presidential election will be filed today.
Bhandari is set to be reelected president as the joint candidate of left alliance that commands almost two-third majority in the federal parliament.
Bhandari was elected president on October 28, 2015. She has not served a full term as the first president Ram Baran Yadav continued at the office for almost two years after the second Constituent Assembly (CA) election in November 2013.
