The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has published property details of PM KP Sharma Oli and 17 Cabinet ministers three months after the Cabinet was formed.
PM Oli's wife Radhika Shakya owns two houses in Bhaktapur and one in Jhapa, according to the details. Oli has Rs 4.20 million in his bank accounts from his salary and allowances while Shakya has Rs 1 million. The Olis, similarly, own golden jewelries weighing 18 tolas.
Shakya has invested Rs 2.50 million in shares and also owns 10 katthas of land in Prithvi Nagar, Jhapa.
Defense Minister Ishwore Pokharel has 12 katthas of land in Chandragadi, Jhapa. The house built in 23 annas of land in Tokha, Kathmandu is in the name of wife Mira Pokharel. He has bank balance of Rs 700,000 and does not own any private vehicle.
Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has bank balance of Rs 300,000 which he stated he has acquired from partnership in a restaurant. He has six tolas of gold and a vehicle that is in the name of Maoist party. He has also mentioned two canines in the property details. A house in 1 kattha and 3 dhur in Chitwan is in the name of Nainkala Thapa.
Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali has kept the house he bought in Shankhamul, Kathmandu for Rs 2.10 million after selling house and land in Butwal in the name of his wife. They have two tolas of gold. He has listed income of Rs 257,383 from salary, royalty from books and newspaper columns, and also mentioned his library of 2,500 books.
Energy Minister Barsha Man Pun has a house in Rolpa municipality in Rolpa district, 15 tolas of gold and bank balance of Rs 325,000 from salary and allowances.
Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giri Raj Mani Pokharel has a house in Mahottari and bank balance of Rs 367,000. He has invested Rs 5,000 in Rupakot Samudayik FM in Khotang.
Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Matrika Yadav has two houses bought at Rs 4.50 million in Siraha and Dhanusha districts. He also has land purchased at Rs 13 million in Chapagaun of Lalitpur. He has 16 tolas of gold and bank balance of Rs 79,692.
Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Raghubir Mahaseth has houses in the name of his wife in Dhanusha and Lalitpur. He has land in Sindhuli, Lalitpur and Dhanusha districts, and bank balance of Rs 7.20 million. He has 52 tolas of gold including 25 tolas received in dowry. His wife July Mahato has shares worth Rs 400 million.
Minister for Labor and Employment Gokarna Bista has a house he purchased at Rs 4 million in Kathmandu, and also has two houses and cottages in Gulmi. He has seven tolas of gold and bank balance of Rs 54,000. His wife Pratima Shrestha has bank balance of Rs 682,000. He also owns two oxen, one buffalo and four goats.
Minister for Forest and Environment Shakti Bahadur Basnet has a house in Jajarkot. He has a Mahindra Scorpio that is registered in the name of Maoist party. He has Rs 1.50 million in cash, bank balance of Rs 200,000, seven tolas of land and 10 kilograms of silver. He also has made share investment of Rs 310,000 in two cooperatives.
Water Supply Minister Beena Magar has listed three katthas of land in the name of his deceased husband Prakash Dahal, and mother-in-law Sita Dahal. She also owns five tolas of gold and 16 tolas of silver.
Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives Minister Chakrapani Khanal has 15 katthas of land in Rupandehi, six tolas of gold and bank balance of Rs 816,000. His wife has bank balance of Rs 680,000, shares worth Rs 1.037 million, and a scooter.
Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Rabindra Adhikari has three houses in Kaski and Kathmandu. He has 94.50 ropanis of land in Kaski. He also has 60 tolas of gold and 30 kilograms of silver.
