Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended best wishes to all Nepalis at home and abroad on the occasion of the Constitution Day.
In a message sent Wednesday, PM Oli expressed deep tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives and also owed heartfelt gratitude to entire people of the country for their substantial contributions to bound the country to rule of law.
On the occasion, the PM has further noted that the new Constitution framed through the Constituent Assembly after a seven-decade long wait has not only fulfilled people’s aspiration and optimism but also included principles and values.
“Asoj 3, the day when the Constitution was promulgated, is the very significant day in the history of modern Nepal," reads the message. “We celebrate the day with much fanfare across the country”.
Prime Minister Oli has said that the Constitution has guaranteed fundamental rights and freedom to all citizens without any discrimination.
The Constitution has established constitutional supremacy and competitive multi-party governance system, he said, adding that it has also enshrined periodic election, human rights, rule of law, separation of power with checks and balances and independent judiciary.
Similarly, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said it was a matter of happiness for all to have an environment conducive to prosper democratic political system of Nepal through constitutional roadmap.
Delivering a message on the occasion of the Constitution Day and National Day-2075, President Bhandari said the Constitution has envisaged creating an equitable society based on social justice with a goal to develop a socialism-oriented economy.
“I think it is the timely need for all the actors including people-representative institutions, political parties, state organs and entire Nepali people to embrace the letter and spirit of the Constitution to expedite socio-economic development”.
The President, in the message, said she has expected that the National Day would achieve a success in making commitment with inspiration to execute the constitutional values and norms.
On the occasion, President Bhandari wished for the peace, happiness, progress and prosperity as well as national unity, independence and mutual good will in the country.
