Province 1 chief minister Sherdhan Rai has said the province government has planned to spend Rs six billion in the infrastructure development this current fiscal year.
Inaugurating Thursday a newly setup office of Transport Infrastructure Development Directorate Office at Halganda of Itahari-4, Sunsari, he said the province government would spend 40 per cent of the total budget in infrastructure development projects which will include road-widening and upgrading of roadways to improve the material living standard of the people. He took a time to insist on need of support and cooperation from all quarters to make the province free from corruption and establish good governance.
He instructed the directorate to work, putting the people at first. According to him, the issues concerning the name and capital of the province would be finalized by the province upcoming winter session.
The newly established office will look after affairs relating to the acceptance of planning for the construction of roads, motorable and suspensions bridges in the 14 districts in the province, budget allocation for the same, their monitoring, inspection and regulation.
