RPP Chairman Kamal Thapa and RPP (Democratic) Chairman Pashupati SJB Rana have met Tuesday to discuss unification.
The two parties are preparing for unification citing need for a strong nationalist democratic party in the country. Chief of the publicity department of RPP Mohan Shrestha said the two chairmen had fruitful discussion on unification.
RPP has seen multiple splits and unifications ever since the party was formed by the royalists after reinstatement of democracy in 1990.
The latest unification had happened on November 19, 2015. But the unification didn’t last long, and Thapa and Rana parted ways on August 6, 2017.
