At least 22 suspects have been arrested by the police in connection with the bomb attack on Monday targeting Nepali Congress (NC) leader Gagan Thapa.
"The team of police deployed immediately after the attack arrested 22 people suspected of involvement in the bomb attack," informed SP Rabindra Dhanuk of Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range.
"We have arrested 22 people. The team deployed on the site is taking even other suspects nder control," SP Dhanuk added.
The police have concluded that the Communist Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand was behind the attack.
According to bomb disposal squad, the kettle bomb went off just two meters away from the place where Thapa and other people were campaigning for the election. At least 11 people including Thapa have been injured in the attack.
