Indian police have arrested fugitive Mukhiya Gurung, convicted of killing 19-year-old Subarna Gurung some 16 years ago, from India.
Mukhiya was on the run after murdering Subarna, a local of Baneshwor, at Julie Studio Disco at Thamel on November 3, 2001.
Police investigations found that Mukhiya's group including Karma Gurung, Karma Sherpa and Raju Ghale killed Subarna. After the murder, the three involved in murder were arrested while Mukhiya, who was on the run, reached Macau.
He had arrived Nepal some two months ago. He was arrested at Jaipur Airport while flying to Thailand from India.
Indian police, that had arrested Mukhiya on December 8, 2017, also produced him before Patiala House Court in Delhi. Police sources informed that Mukhiya is being brought to Nepal following the court's order.
He will brought here Friday at 3 pm.
The Interpol had enlisted Mukhiya in the search list. The Indian police arrested him on the same basis.
