International Yoga Day being celebrated today

The fourth International Yoga Day is being marked across the nation by organizing various awareness programs Thursday. The yoga campaign has come into operation simultaneously in all districts including in Kathmandu from 6 am to 8 am today. The program organized at Mahendra Police Club in the Capital sees the participation of high-level officials, officials of diplomatic missions and Indian envoy to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri, among others. Speaking in the program, the chief of Patanjali Yoga Committee, Nepal Lava Dev Mishra and coordinator of Yoga Day Organizer's Committee Gyanendra Bikram Mahat have stressed on the need of introducing yoga as one of the significant contributions of eastern philosophy. At the call of the United Nations, June 21 is observed as the International Yoga Day every year since its inception in 2015.
